No — paste your list, one entry per line. Shorthand just works: 'The Sharmas +3' becomes a party of 4, 'Rahul & Priya' a couple, 'Meera (family of 4)' a group of four, and a plain name a single guest. Keep-together is automatic for anyone in the same party.
Yes. Parties always sit together; add keep-apart rules for people who shouldn't share a table, and pin anyone (and their party) to a specific table. Auto-seat respects all of it — and you can still drag anyone by hand, with instant conflict flags if a move breaks a rule.
It won't fake it. You'll see a plain-English reason ('18 guests but only 15 seats — add 3'), the guests it couldn't place, and the fix — never a silently over-filled table.
